Arty Kitchen towel

Written by: | Posted on: | Category:

An easy, mess free and inexpensive craft that gets kids being creative. Display their art on the wall, or fridge, or use it to make inexpensive personalized cards or bookmarks.

What you need:

  • Felt tip/marker pens
  • A piece of kitchen paper towel with an embossed design on it
  • A piece of card, paper or newspaper (to protect your work surface)

What to do:

  1. Place the piece of card, paper or newspaper on the table. This will protect the table from the felt tip pens.
  2. Put the kitchen paper towel on top of the card/paper/newspaper.
  3. Use the pens to trace or dot over the pattern on the kitchen towel. Be as creative as you like.

Top tip: Experiment using pens of different thicknesses, filling in some areas and/or adding detail. You could also try using different media e.g. crayons, paint

Activity develops: Fine motor and language skills and creativity. Read more in Crafting with kids
