Looking for an easy craft that will keep your kids busy?
Let them get creative with just a bit of glue, a recycled jar lid, kitchen foil and some scraps of recycled paper, ribbon, buttons etc.
What you need:
- Jar lids
- Kitchen Foil
- Glue (Top tip: White craft glue dries clear)
- Materials for decorating lids; e.g. recycled wrapping paper, construction paper, ribbon, glitter, buttons
- Paper clips or string for hanging decoration
What to do:
- Cut a piece of foil about twice as big as the jar lid.
- Place the foil on a flat surface. Put the jar lid flat side down (top of lid) on the foil.
- Wrap the jar lid in the foil.
- Pour glue into the bottom of the jar lid.
- Decorate with bits of ribbon, coloured paper, buttons .... Be creative and have fun.
Top tip: Place jar lid in a recycled plastic tray or cardboard before you sprinkle with glitter - it is easier to tidy up!
- Leave lid to dry.
- Use an unfolded paperclip, or attach string to top of lid, to hang the decoration.
Or for Version 2

- Decorate the flat (top) side of the foil wrapped lid.
- Leave lid to dry.
- Use an unfolded paperclip, or attach string to top of lid, to hang the decoration.
